Introduction
I have been a journey that I could never have imagined. Over the last fifty years and more I have worked with thousands of individuals who have come to me for consultations. I have lead multiple different courses, from a simple introduction to chakras to The Way of Harmony and The Circulation of Light, courses that I developed and taught, educating students and offering teacher trainings. I have taught multiple forms of Qi Gong, including the Three Treasures form that came to me in a vision of Master Zao. I have hosted webinars and released a podcast series, Consciousness Matters.
As you read about some of the important turning points in my life, it is my hope that you will be inspired to see how a “normal” life can so radically change. Perhaps it will remind you of your own story, or allow you to see some possibilities. As I look back now as seasoned elder it is even more obvious to me how life is full of unexpected surprises and delights. Once we let go of fixed goals or the need to prove ourselves, we can find the time to be still and listen, creating a space where we can be internally guided on the adventure we all deserve.
EARLY YEARS
I remember I was around six years old. My mother remembered this as well. I would often have conversations with the spirit of an bearded old man who would appear in my bedroom when I was alone. My mother would spot me on occasion and noticed that I was not just talking but asking questions. There would be a pause after each question, and I would ask another question.
Many children have psychic experiences before they enter school, and they usually end around that age. I grew up in New York and Pennsylvania, I went to the local public schools and attended church regularly. I was a normal guy with big hopes for an exciting career.
the mind opens
I attended Lafayette College from 1966 to 1970, where I studied and graduated with a degree in International Affairs. These were transformative years in America, in the midst of an on-going war in Vietnam, Civil Rights Movement and Women’s Liberation – this context was transformative for me as well, shocking me out of my conventional worldview and belief system.
My father had died in my junior year and in my final year I was considering law school. As I was walking across the college campus one day however, a thought that I can only describe as not being mine came into my head with calm confidence: “You will have a much more interesting life if you do not pursue a career in international law“. It resonated with a depth of knowing. I never gave law school another thought.
In my early twenties I met Elwood Babbitt, a trans-medium living on a farm in rural in Massachusetts who channeled historical people such as Albert Einstein, Mark Twain, and even entities such as Vishnu. By introducing me to concepts of mediums, reincarnation and astral projection, among others, Elwood blew my mind out of its middle class reality.
During this time, I began to meditate daily. The technique was Transcendental Meditation. A sense of calm and inner peace deepened until one day an intense blue light barrelled through my mind and my third eye opened. Very soon`after when I would look at people sometimes they would vanish and be replaced by who they were in a past life, with scenes from their past appearing to me. When I shared these insights with people, it was helpfully affirming: for example, one evening at dinner I saw a scene from a dinner guest’s life: the mild-mannered social worker became a switch-blade wielding Sicilian mafioso. When I told him about my insight, he was surprised, saying he’d always loved switch blades and had a large collection. His wife, on the other hand, I saw walking to an amusement park with her grandfather in the early 1900s, getting on a Ferris wheel from which she fell to her death. She was shocked: loving the thrill of the wildest roller coaster, she had always refused to get on a Ferris wheel.
Delving deeper
I started to get more in touch with myself. I wrote songs and began to have experiences of my own former incarnations. My clairvoyance opened up my soul memory. I started keeping a dream journal which helped me integrate. One night I had my first experience of the future: I dreamed in precise detail an event which would take place two weeks later. Through a small window, I looked across a field of dry grass where smoke was curling. Fire trucks soon arrived to put out this wildfire. Two weeks later, I was visiting a farm, looking through a small window at a field of dry grass that was on fire, I witnessed firetrucks arrive to put out the fire. Shocked, I returned to my dream diary to check if the dream and what I had just experienced aligned. This was a major turning point for me: I had always thought that the future was unknowable, and had always seen time as linear, with the future only determined by the past. Now in an vivid dream my mind had jumped ahead two weeks “into the future”. This raised the question of how far ahead into the future would it be possible to see? What did that say about time? Where do dreams and the future “live”?
Along with developing clairvoyance, I also had inner promptings from what I call my “guides”. I say guides as the information does not come from me but enters my mind from outside and when it speaks through me has a very different voice. This was the same thought or voice that I heard back in college.
A career change
I had many jobs along the way: I worked in insurance for a bit, was a door-to-door salesman, I worked in a bank. None of these jobs inspired me and I always left, having seen the underbelly of each system. My guides encouraged me to work with my hands, so I trained in construction. I was working in the construction trade by day and at night teaching yoga classes and chakra meditation where I would regularly go into trance. One day my guides told me: “This is the moment to become a full-time healer“. I now had two young kids and my wife and I had just bought our first home. If I couldn’t pay the mortgage, we could lose the home. My guides agreed with the my concerns but did not offer any ironclad assurances. They just asked, “What do you believe in?” I knew then that I had to put everything on the line. And I did: I quit the construction business and very “strangely” the phone began to ring with people asking for psychic readings, as if I had created a massive advertising campaign.
For many years at this point I had been see past lives but not chakras, though I wanted to, and asked to. During private sessions I would channel my guides and one day, right before I was going into trance, a tangerine color appeared in my client’s throat chakra. I was amazed and surprised as the colors I saw did not fit in with the rainbow alignment that I had learned was associated with the seven chakras. After that, each time I would do a psychic reading, chakras would appear. I no longer went into trance but instead learned to feel or telepath into the colors that appeared in my clients’ chakras. Each chakra was rich with information and splendor, responding with answers to my questions and transforming into images or symbols and sometimes even scenes from their past.
A dear friend who I had done a chakra reading for called me one day in 1979 saying she and some of her friends would like to learn more about chakras. I did not feel like I was qualified but my “guides” said to me, “Don’t worry, we will be there“. I organized a six week chakra meditation class for which all the information came through me telepathically or in trance. I drew the chakras of each student before the class, taught them a simple meditation focusing on one chakra at a time, and then drew how their chakras looked at the end of each class. This was interesting and impressive: darker colors would disappear, a color would move from one chakra to another, certain chakras would get larger, and there would be a better balance between the chakras in general. I would go on to develop this class over many years into “The Circulation of Light” meditation technique, of which I was and still am the “perpetual student”.
Developing a career
My career developed through personal connections and their networks, leading me to Bar Habor, Maine, and then New York. The interest in readings and meditation classes grew and soon I was spending two months a year staying with my friend Janice and her family. Janice introduced me to Frankie Lipman, leading to a position as consultant at his medical and acupuncture clinic. A very skilled doctor and acupuncturist Frankie, would refer his patients to me when the origin of their illness seemed to be psychological level rather than purely physical. Using my clairvoyance to see the moment of trauma, be it was in childhood or a former incarnation, I would then use a regression technique to reframe and release the trauma.
Sometimes my clairvoyance has left me surprises: a woman came to me for a chakra reading and I saw a man standing next to her with a small boy at his side. I told her that this was her future husband and her first child. Six weeks later, unrelated, my marriage suddenly ended. My path ended up crossing with this woman again and we went on to get married and have a son. The fact that I had not recognized myself is one of the many mysteries…
there are no accidents
We moved our young family to Ireland in 1994 and I was invited by my friend Don to help him make a flower essence from an orchid. Flower Essences are similar to high potency homeopathics , energetic imprints into water. Over the next seven years in a team with Don and my friend Heather we developed a line, The Living Tree Orchid Essences. As Don expanded the business to include global distribution of twenty-three flower and gem essence developers, I was the quality control department and would choose and vet all the developers and would later consult for many of them.
Through Don I met an acupuncturist in London who scheduled a session for his wife in Switzerland, over the phone. This lead to an invitation to Lausanne to give a presentation, at the conclusion of which twenty people signed up for a year long series of chakra classes. This became a major part of my work for the next sixteen years, and it was during this that many of the higher chakras and supra-cosmic chakras appeared.
The path leads on…
Over the years as well as developing multiple courses and teaching systems and offering private sessions, I have hosted trips to visit Crop Circles in England, lead regular meditions and most recently have concentrated my group work to the Blue Rainbow group.
Throughout my life, I have been led to many teachers and leaders of different spiritual and healing traditions, and I in turn have had the opportunity to teach many. These have all served to create context and in many instances validation of my personal insights.
We are all related!
